Moab is my Washpot [Dec. 30th, 2008|04:31 am]
[Current Music |Machines - Biffy Clyro]

Oh Mah Gawd. I love Stephen Fry.

Just finished reading his Autobiography, 'Moab is my Washpot'. If any unfortunate soul reading this has not read that book, then get it, whenever and however you can. Get it now! It's so awesome.

Smoking [Dec. 19th, 2008|10:19 am]
[Current Mood |Ill]
[Current Music |Biffy Clyro - Machines]

I think my body is starting to reject nicotine/tobacco because yesterday I only had one cigarette. ONE! Just now I lit up and I couldn't finish it. I got down to about halfway and just put it out.

At this rate I should give up by New Year's.

Exclamation, exlamation, exclamation, exclamation, exclamation [Dec. 12th, 2008|05:12 pm]
Why do people insist on having 24987 exclamation marks when they are typing/writing loudly? It's like "Hey dude!!!!!!!!". Stop that. You don't need that many. Here's a tally to help explain how to use an exclamation mark:

! - One is to indicate that you are either quite shocked, surprised or talking louder than normal. This is the green zone of expression.
e.g. "What!" "Oh wow!" "Hey!"

!! - Two is the same as one except twice as much. This is the yellow zone of expression.

!!! - Three is the peak of surprise/shock/volume. Anymore than this and you are officially an idiot. This is the nuclear zone of expression and cannot exceed this!!!.

There are exceptions. Two of which I can think of:

1. You are being sarcastic/taking the piss.
2. Your computer is being incredibly laggy.

You have been warned.

College work done. [Nov. 3rd, 2008|04:47 pm]
[Current Music |Kings of Leon - The Bucket]

I'm not happy with it at all, but I can't add any more to it and if they don't like it then I'm going to stab them in the face. Next time we get an assignment I'm going to probe my lecturers for as much information as possible rather than "here are some sheets telling you what to do, go find a computer kthxbye".

Thank you to everyone who helped, too.

College ramblings [Nov. 1st, 2008|11:35 pm]
[Current Mood | annoyed]
[Current Music |Pretty Tied Up - Guns N Roses]

This is mainly a rant directed towards the internet rather than College but, still.

I have to research one genre from each decade between the 50's and 00's and list the social and technological influences on them as well as a song/composition as an example. Simple enough, right?

I have the internet at my disposal as well as knowledge about music genres before this task was even set. This should be a cake walk, right?

However, the internet has proven to be a complete waste of fucking time. I can get a song from any of these genres easily without the internet. But as far as technological and social influences go, I don't know. There are obvious ones (such as racism in the 50's and the CND in the 60's etc) but other social influences do not affect (effect?) the music. As for technological influences go (how they recorded etc), how am I supposed to know that? "Oh yes, they recorded on a CM692 with the use of a scally-wag ding dong".

Even looking up the simplest things like David Bowie's 1970's work (which I'm almost certain is Experimental Rock/Prog Rock/Psychadelic Rock/Pop Rock but to simplify it I'll go with Experimental) is a pain in the arse. When I type David Bowie into google or wiki or whatever it is either some twat saying how amazing David Bowie is or wiki saying he's this, and he's that, and that, too. USELESS! I've picked out the relevant parts and have come up with about 3 lines of information for each. This isn't a cry for help, just me pointing out the STD-infected robot's bollock that is 'The Internet's complete lack of useful information. That is, afterall one of, if not the main reason for its creation? To share information. But, unless information is Porn, Myspace/Facebook and stupid annoying fan websites or official websites with nothing on it other than "this feature coming soon!" then The Internet has sod all to offer. I need to get more books, but although the books I do have on Rock/Pop music are good and lists a wide range of musical genres from the 50's to the 00's, they only summerises them.

The main kick in the nuts for you, internet, is that I'm USING you to MOCK you, you lazy, big-nosed, rubber-faced, bastard! So, I win as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway, back to cursing at my computer.

Billy Idol [Aug. 1st, 2008|01:51 pm]
[Current Music |Ruff Justice - Open Ride]

So last night I went to see Billy Idol at Brixton Academy. To be honest, it wasn't as "OMGTHATWASAWESOME" as I thought it'd be. I can't remember what he opened with but the highlights (for me) were when he did White Wedding, Flesh For Fantasy (the lighting was cool for that), Mony Mony and of course, Rebel Yell. Generally the show was cool, and I didn't get that drunk, but drunk enough to join in with Mark's ridiculously over-the-top dancing.

The gig ended at about 20 to 11 so we got out of there quickly and started walking to the station. The station happened to be closed and there were a few guys standing outside saying we had to get a bus. So we walked with everyone else over the road to the bus stop and after about 10 minutes of trying to figure out what one to take we got on one to London Bridge. We finally got to London Bridge after about half an hour and took a train to Moorgate, then London Liverpool Street (blah blah). This is where the night gets really exciting. We had missed the last train and so had to spend the night at the station. Fortunately there is a 24-hour McDonalds outside it so we spent most of the night there (other than walking round, meeting a few people and stopping to play guitar with this random guy sitting on a wall). Nothing unbelievably exciting happened (and if it did I don't remember) but we got the first train to Broxbourne and cabbed it back home and here we are. I'll probably re-do this when I'm less dead so it can actually make sense.

If I Die Tomorrow [Apr. 25th, 2007|12:50 pm]
I wake up to find myself
After all these years
And where all the time has gone
Still seems so unclear
'Cause there's no one else
Since I found you
I know it's been so hard
You should know

If I die tomorrow
As the minutes fade away
I can't remember
Have I said all I can say?
You're my everything
You make me feel so alive
If I die tomorrow

It brings out the worst in me
When you're not around
I miss the sound of your voice
The silence seems so loud
'Cause there's no one else
Since I found you
I know it's been so hard
You should know

If I die tomorrow
As the minutes fade away
I can't remember
Have I said all I can say?
You're my everything
You make me feel so alive
If I die tomorrow

I spent all my life
Looking for our innocence
I've got nothing to lose
One thing to prove
I won't make the same mistakes
Now I know
That everything will be ok
When I die tomorrow

If I die tomorrow
As the minutes fade away
I can't remember
Have I said all I can say?
You're my everything
You make me feel so alive
If I die tomorrow
You make me feel so alive
If I die tomorrow
If I die tomorrow

Command & Conquer [Mar. 24th, 2007|02:16 pm]
[Current Mood | okay]
[Current Music |Ruff Justice - Back Seat's For Lovers]

I was looking at a few trailers for the game and I am quite tempted to go for it.

I like the C&C series so this should be pretty good.

Anyway, today I am gonna spend most of it wrapped up and on here, then when Stacey comes round then we can do some history work and get all of this crap out of the way.

Ruff Justice have a new website, and if you haven't done so already, add them on Myspace.

See ya.

College [Mar. 22nd, 2007|10:26 pm]
[Current Music |Whiskey in the Jar - Thin Lizzy]

So, I figure that after these two or three years I'll probably take a gap year. Then I may be going to this college.

Learning Whiskey in the Jar by Thin Lizzy. Got the intro and main riff pretty much sorted. Going to learn the verse/chorus tomorrow. Fun fun fun.

I got a new guitar

This weekend I will probably tidy my room, play lots of guitar and do some homework.

[Current Music |Motley Crue - If I Die Tomorrow]

I think I actually gave myself food poisoning, or at least a little bit. I've felt rough since dinner (which I cooked myself) and it can't be because of "Not enough early nights". But I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Nothing new has happened.

Peace.

[Current Music |The Goo Goo Dolls - Name]

....I bought a £10 voucher for my phone and managed to spend over half of it in the space of 5 minutes.

...

I am not going to download songs on my phone anymore. I downloaded Guns N' Roses' version of Knockin' on Heaven's Door and it plays about 8 seconds of it.... it cost £3.50. But oh well! It makes a change to my boring, previous ringtone so it's not that bad.

Urgh Argh [Oct. 20th, 2006|11:28 am]
[Current Mood | sick]

Since pretty much yesterday I've felt like crap. I've not thrown up in ages until yesterday, and am developing a dizzy headache. Which is nice. Mum said it was because of stress, which makes sense.

After half-term I am going to spend a while catching everything up and getting back on track, as I am hoping things will be cool by then. I don't want to go in for Psychology. It isn't because of the lesson, as I like Mr. Hyde's lessons, but I feel really dizzy and "blergh". So yeah, after half-term I am going to go for it at school and if I still feel this way towards school by Christmas then I am gone.

Okay, I'm done. Sleep time.

'cause it's a game we gotta lose, though it's a life we gotta choose, and the price is our own life [Oct. 9th, 2006|10:41 pm]
[Current Mood | okay]
[Current Music |Motley Crue - If I Die Tomorrow]

I wish I could start my life over again and be born me again. I'm at a "I don't wanna go through anything at the moment" stage and it's mad. School is a huge hassle and outside it can be pretty annoying too. I guess everyone has been through the stage and yes it is probably all "growing up" but that doesn't change anything. I still feel it, it's like if you are 40 and you decide that you need to change, or something. Age doesn't apply here. If I was talking about hormones then sure, maybe but I'm not.

Yeah none of that made sense... but I get what I mean.

To begin with school was pretty cool, but now it's just the same shit hole that it always was. I really really wanna start my life over again, or at least re-do or rub out some events of life. Yes, that's cheating but oh well. I wish I could get rid of my conscience actually. That would be better. Anyway, back to school. Tomorrow I will get shouted at for not turning up to another History lesson, which is fair enough. Another lecture, hurray. The temptation of quitting 6th form, getting a job to get enough money and then just go travelling building up a music career is oh so tempting. At the moment I plan to do something like that during my Gap Year and then decide, depending on how successful it is, on whether I'll go to Uni or not.

I guess it can be seen as a "Bad attitude" but the whole "Live fast, die young" motto (or whatever) seems appealing to me. If I get judged or criticised for it, then oh well. I only get one life and it's mine so yeah.

I can't think of much else to write, so I'll probably update this with another 400 posts about the same thing.
